Seems like its kind of on par with the electromatics.however, I did play an electromatic and a Epi Swingster Royale (although they were both new and probably not set up yet) and still thought the Robelli felt better. I might just pull the trigger on this axe if its still there tomorrow! I noticed that most of the guys with the Peavey Rockingham usually replace their neck pickup with a P90 to get that Eddie Cochran/Darrell Higham thing going on.and they sound great! That looks EXACTLY like the guitar I'm looking at! And I thought the pickups were fine.I wasn't playing thru my amp, but they sounded warm yet articulate. Construction & quality is absolutely great, though. It has a warmer, jazzier sound than my Gretsch instruments. and I've actually come to like those in this particular guitar. ZERO complaints about mine, except for the stock "Gretschbucker" pickups.

I have one, and honestly, it's about as good as Korean-made guitars can possibly be. My question is, for those of you who have any experience with one.is it really a good guitar? I can't seem to find any negative reviews about any of the aforementioned models! I may just make an offer!įrom my research, and please tell me if I'm wrong, but it's a Korean-made Peerless.and except for the headstock and s basically the same as the Peerless ToneMaster/GigMaster model, the Peavey Rockingham, the Gretsch G3131.and maybe others. I am going back tomorrow to have another look. I have been doing some research in the meantime and the overall consensus seems to be.its a good guitar! Especially for the money. I assumed it was just a Gretsch knock-off.but I sat down for a couple more minutes with it.it even sounded nice un-plugged. Still, I asked the guy what he wanted and he said $550.00, Again, noting the "Robelli" name, I passed. I had never even heard of one before, but I had always associated the Robelli name with cheap Sam Ash product.

I just saw one of these a couple of days ago, a mint-condition used Carlo Robelli RB-1955, at a store here in L.A. Tartan, thx for the info on the bridge, I didn't know! Would you say that that's an upgrade?

I bought some TV Classics, and a wiring kit, but I'm going to hang on to that stuff. 5ĭidier, nice color! And I'd love to hear how those p90's sound in it. The bridge pictured in the OP's listing is a Gibson/Schaller "Harmonica" style bridge. I have a Robelli RB-1955 as well, and it came with a standard tune-o-matic bridge, although I have replaced it with a Tru-Arc. Kerrys pic represents the actual color, my pic is dark for some reason. 3Īre you sure that's the original bridge? I have the Gretsch version, mine came with a standard tune-o-matic. The peavey was made by peerless before the chinese transfert. This one had the same pot than the peavey rockingham. I had planned to TV Jones this little beauty along with tuner upgrades, but in actuality, the tuners are fine and the pickups sound pretty darn good. It is among the very last Gretsch's made before the company was bought by Fender." The thing is, Peerless decided, hey, why not make the exact same guitar but rebranded? This guitar is in mint condition, comes with a hardshell case. Here's a quote I found on the G3131: "This guitar was used as a dealers promotional model to help stimulate sales. Apparently, this is the same guitar as a (Korean) Peerless made Gretsch prototype that never fully came to fruition, the G3131. So, there's a few references to this guitar on this forum and in a few other places online.
